Commitment To A Safe And Healthy Workplace

In all industries, there are some important steps to take to ensure safety:

- Provide First Aid: The top priority is employee safety. If someone is injured, start by providing first aid. Ensure that necessary medical attention is given immediately.
- Secure the Scene: Next, secure the accident scene to prevent further harm & damage. Address hazardous materials, electrical issues & other risks immediately. Mark off the area to prevent others from entering.
- Collect Evidence: Collect physical evidence that can help uncover the cause of the accident. Take photos & videos of the scene & examine the conditions & surroundings.
- Conduct Interviews: Talk to Witnesses. Their testimony can be valuable information. This is about fact-finding, not fault-finding, so open communication without blame is important.
- Identify Root Cause: Ask questions about what Safety Procedures were not followed, why the accident occurred & more
- Prepare Investigation Report: Make sure to document your findings. Create a report outlining what happened, contributing factors & root causes
- Recommend Corrective & Preventive Actions: Based on the results of the investigation, propose actions to prevent similar accidents in the future
- Follow-up: Ensure recommended actions are implemented & monitor progress

Conclusion: Incident investigation is an effort to prevent the recurrence of workplace accidents. By doing so, you demonstrate your commitment to a safe & healthy workplace.

Permit To Work

Safety is everyone’s responsibility!

Permit To Work (PTW) plays a vital role in ensuring safety during hazardous & risky work.

PTW is a formal procedure & document used to:

Through PTW, companies & employers have the right to review work requests, approve or reject them based on risk assessment & resource availability.

PTW is signed by the authorizer & worker to ensure the understanding of risk & precautions & compliance with Safety Procedures.

Contents of PTW:
- Type, time, location & duration of hazardous & risky work
- Potential hazards & risks associated with the work
- The parts of the work that are safe
- Safety Procedures to be done
- Actions required to prevent & control accidents, emergencies & injuries
- The duty & obligations
- Regulations

PTW is required on works for:
- Handling heat & fire
- Welding
- Cutting
- Operating in Confined Spaces
- Maintaining & repairing electricals
- Digging
- Towing & lifting

Here’s something that I learned about the No-Code Playbook by Creatio from No-Code Day Jakarta 2024 held on August 15, 2024.

Note: I have already had the No-Code Playbook by Creatio since 2023, and the current event in 2024 has taught me more about the book.

No-Code Playbook by Creatio provides some explanations below :-)

The No-Code Playbook by Creatio was published to help equip organizations worldwide to use the No-Code Platform that was created to build applications in the enterprise.

3 Principles of No-Code Platform:
- No-Code Platform is used to build applications quickly
- Everything that can be built by No-Code should be built by No-Code
- No-Code Platform should be able to deliver to end users as quickly as possible

Some of the difficulties that usually occur in companies:
- Complex business
- Complex process
- Difficulties that occur between departments
- Complex regulation
- Problems in information security
- Difficulties in application development

EBS For Safety And Survival

Safety is not just about survival, but also about giving the victim a chance to get out of the emergency safely! Give ourselves a chance to survive by being away from an emergency as soon as possible, including making sure that we can keep breathing.

As humans cannot hold their breath for more than 20 seconds, one of the ways to survive is to use the right PPE & equipment. One of the best PPEs is EBS.

When an emergency occurs in a helicopter that is sinking underwater, we must use the EBS so that we can continue breathing until we come to the surface & are rescued.

The Emergency Breathing System (EBS) is very useful for:
- Ensuring safety during an emergency in a helicopter that is sinking underwater
- Providing additional air when they are submerged underwater
- Overcoming the difficulty of breathing underwater
- Overcoming the limited air that can be breathed
- Providing a chance of survival

Some types of EBS:
- EBS that delivers compressed air
- EBS that helps the user to re-breathe the air exhaled by the user's nose after the carbon dioxide has been released (Rebreather)
- EBS that combines compressed air & rebreather

EBS can save lives! Amazing!
