An Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain must have the knowledge & skills required to:
- Understand the roles & responsibilities as a #Coxswain
- Understand the working mechanism of TEMPSC
- Maintain Operational Readiness
- Launch & operate TEMPSC
- Communicate using #radio
- Use #Compass
- Safely direct the TEMPSC to a safe area
- Ensure that the safety of passengers is maintained during the trip
- Retrieve & store Lifeboats
- Prepare the Lifeboats for launch
- Use Lifeboat equipment
- Direct the #TEMPSC / #Lifeboat into a dangerous #environment
- Handle passengers & victims

Basic Fire Fighting




If incidents, accidents & emergencies occur in the company / work place, then some of the consequences that can occur in the company are:
- The company will lose millions of dollars
- The employees will be the victims
- The building where the company is located will be damaged

Therefore, its employees must have the ability to handle incidents, accidents & emergencies, one of which is the ability to extinguish fires effectively. The ability to extinguish fires is very necessary, especially if the employees work in areas that are potentially exposed to fire hazards.

- The basic theory of fire
- Tactics to work as a #team (team member & leader) so that fires can be extinguished appropriately
- Techniques for using personal #protective equipment (including Self Contained Breathing Apparatus / #SCBA)
- Techniques for using fire fighting equipment (portables, hoses, water, foam & more) correctly
- Tactics for fighting fires
- Ways to deal with the victims

Offshore & Onshore #Fire Teams must have the appropriate capabilities to:
- Extinguish Class A, B & C fires
- Deal with injured & stressed victims
