Helideck

Helideck is a facility that is attached to the Deck of the ship that serves as a landing area for Helicopters.

Helideck must meet the following requirements:
- The resistance of the supporting structure must be really strong
- The Helideck must be able to withstand the load
- Strength in Helideck construction, after experiencing various loading conditions, must always be measured & known
- Maximum load & landing conditions must always be measured
- The Helideck structure on the ship must meet the safety factor

Some of the things above must be done & following applicable regulations so that the safety of the Helideck can always be maintained.

Another thing that must be done so that it is always safe at the Helideck is to have Offshore Emergency Helideck Team Members. They will be tasked with:
- Handling emergencies in Offshore Installations
- Handling hazards & incidents that occur on Helicopters
- Extinguishing the fire
- Rescuing & dealing with victims
- Using & providing necessary equipment (PPE, respirator, SCBA, hose & more)
- Refueling
- Handling dangerous goods
- Monitoring operations on Helideck
- Collaborating with other members as one team & with other groups

Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS)

Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS) can extend the time underwater so that escaping the Helicopter, which capsized as a result of the impact of uncontrolled water, can be well done.

Fact: The time it takes for passengers to escape from a submerged or overturned Helicopter is estimated to be between 45 to 60 seconds. If they are under cold water, of course, the time will be shorter, which is about 15 to 20 seconds. This means that we cannot hold our breath for too long & this is a dangerous thing.

Therefore, EBS is an important means of increasing our chances of survival when we sink underwater.

EBS can immediately activate the air so that the air exhaled into the funnel can be inhaled again for a longer time. There is also an EBS that can automatically remove water so that the breathing process can be carried out safely.

Best advice: EBS must be used before entering the water to prevent water from entering the funnel.

So that you can save yourself when traveling to & from Offshore Oil & Gas Installations in the warm tropical environment using a Helicopter & the Helicopter crashes into the river & sea, then the training to use EBS is the best advice.

Working At Height

Working at Height is one of the biggest causes of death & injury. Workers usually fall from stairs & are on fragile surfaces/roofs.

Here are a few steps you can take to make Working at Heights safe:
- Working at Height must be planned, supervised & carried out by workers who already have the knowledge, ability & experience to do the job
- Workers must use suitable, stable, robust & maintained & inspected Equipment for Working at Height (PPE, safety ropes, anchors, connecting devices, ladders, guardrails & more)
- Workers must have the ability to prevent accidents at the place where they work
- Workers must have knowledge of the severity of the task to be carried out, the duration & frequency of the work & the condition of the surface to be worked on
- Workers must ensure that their place of work is safe & secured
- Working on fragile places/surfaces & various objects that may fall should be avoided
- Workers should not carry items & equipment that are heavier than their ladders & body support
- If an accident occurs, workers & other personnel must be able to carry out rescue actions & the evacuation process

Drone

The Drone is a Robot that can fly autonomously & is controlled remotely using software that works in conjunction with onboard sensors & GPS. Intelligent Drone can provide a variety of important information using their equipment: GPS, laser/lidar, sensors (visual, ultrasonic, flight time, chemistry, stabilization & orientation).

Besides making photos & videos, Drone has been used in various industries to:
- Search & rescue victims
- Keep an eye on & monitor traffic, weather, farmland, plantation & wildlife
- Transport & deliver objects & goods
- Report various situations, including emergencies & disasters
- Protect assets, property & various other valuables
- Communicate & provide information
- Take care of health
- Take measurements & surveys
- Check air & water quality & presence of certain micro-organisms & atmospheric elements
- Monitor fires

The latest developments are:
- Drone can currently detect from 5 directions (front, back, down, up & side to side)
- Drone that already has the Internet of Things (IoT) can work faster
- The use of a Drone must comply with applicable regulations

Rescue Craft

Rescue Craft is the most important part of:
- Marine Safety Mission
- Search & Rescue Operations

Rescue Craft is used to rescue victims who are at sea & rivers & also near shore, offshore & various installations.

Rescue Craft is the best choice to perform Search & Rescue Operations because:
- It can be operated more quickly & efficiently at sea
- It is stable
- It can carry all the equipment needed & heavy loads
- It can last a long time in various weather conditions
- It is equipped with life safety equipment (First Aid kit, knife, hook, compass, radio, lamp, Portable Fire Extinguisher & more)
- It can accommodate more people & victims

Rescue Craft desperately needs a reliable Coxswain who can do the following:
- Assess sea conditions & safety
- Perform proper procedures to prepare, operate, maintain & repair Rescue Craft
- Operate Rescue Craft from any beach with minimal assistance
- Perform Rescue Operations properly
- Handle emergencies
- Rescue the victims
- Providing medical assistance to the victims
