Confined Space Safety

Confined Space Safety

Remember that Safety is everyone’s responsibility!

All industries, including the Oil & Gas Industry, have Confined Spaces in some form, such as:
- Tanks
- Pits for storing reserves
- Mud pits
- Underground areas for holding & collecting waste

Confined Spaces have their own set of hazards, so safety is the most important thing to do in a Confined Space & the risks must be managed effectively.

As Confined Space Safety in various industries is a critical concern, then prioritize your safety when you work at Confined Spaces by:

- Making sure that you can work appropriately in Confined Spaces by taking the right Confined Space Training before working in Confined Spaces.

- Having a Permit To Work At Confined Spaces before you work to ensure that only authorized personnel enter the Confined Space.

- Using the right Safety Equipment to stay safe when working in a Confined Space: PPE, Protective clothing, seat belts, Gas Detector, Tripod, Davit, Harness, Rope, SCBA, Stretcher & more.

- Monitoring the atmosphere, hazards & risks in Confined Spaces regularly: Toxic atmosphere, flammable gases, toxic substances, oxygen levels, explosives & physical hazards.

- Ensuring the ventilation & air exchange systems in Confined Spaces to help maintain a safe atmosphere in the Confined Space.

- Conducting the Confined Space Safety Procedures: Entry & exit procedures, safe working in Confined Spaces, recognizing hazards, dealing with emergencies, rescue procedures, communication protocols, evacuation routes & more.

- Having the skills to handle the hazards & risks in Confined Space properly: Gas, chemical, fire, explosion & lack of oxygen.

- Using the latest technology equipment to enhance Confined Space Safety: Gas Detectors, Communication Devices, Monitoring Devices & more.

Best Advice: If you want to increase your career in the Confined Space World, upgrade your skills by taking the right course & becoming a Confined Space Rescue Officer!
