Basic H2S

H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) is a gas that can be created by natural #biological processes or by human activities & is a serious threat to people or assets due to its highly #toxic & corrosive nature.

The Oil & Gas Industry is an environment that has the potential to be exposed to H2S. One example is: When personnel inhale H2S, the H2S will directly enter the lungs & bloodstream. In small amounts of H2S, the personnel's body can protect itself by oxidizing (decomposing) H2S as quickly as possible into harmless compounds. However, if the personnel inhale more H2S, then the H2S that cannot be processed by the body will accumulate in the blood & poison the body.

Therefore, personnel who work in the Oil & Gas Industry must be able to handle #emergency that occurs due to H2S by having the necessary knowledge & understanding as follows:

- Knowing about #Hydrogen Sulfide #Gas & its dangers

- Knowing about exposure & its physiological effects

- Using equipment to detect #H2S

- Using breathing apparatus

- Taking appropriate action to deal with emergencies when H2S-related incidents occur

The popular #Drone technology has succeeded in providing a new & #innovative way to solve various operational problems in companies that have been going on for decades. It has been proven that Drones can help to:
- Save time
- Improve safety
- Increase productivity
- Handle difficulties

But the company that uses the state-of-the-art Drones to do their job should know that Drones are not cheap toys. The company must ensure that the use of Drones in its company must be handled properly, so the Drones will not damage the humans & property.

The company that uses Drones should understand about:
- Important components & #technology in Drones
- Applicable #professional standards
- Functions & benefits of Drones in the modern industry
- Possible risks & techniques to deal with them
- Procedure to check Drones before flying & after use

Emergency Breathing System at Helicopter Underwater Escape

The time it takes for passengers to escape from a submerged / inverted Helicopter underwater is around 45 – 60 seconds. Of course this cannot be done by humans because we can only hold our breath for 20 seconds. Yes, our ability to hold our #breath is limited. To extend our time underwater & increase our chances of survival, we need an Emergency Breathing System (EBS). EBS will be carried when personnel #travel by Helicopter to a warm Offshore Oil & Gas Installation located in a tropical #environment. EBS will assist personnel to escape from Helicopters & water (sea) when an emergency occurs offshore. The EBS will give them the ability to extend their time underwater so they can escape from the Helicopter that is inverted as a result of an uncontrolled water impact.

While traveling to & from Offshore Oil & Gas Installations in #tropical environments by Helicopter, the personnel must also have the ability to:
- Gain knowledge about various things that will happen while in the Helicopter (check-in, boarding, in-flight, landing & more)
- Know about Helicopter Safety Requirements
- Know about the dangers that will be faced while on the Helicopter
- Use safety equipment
- Respond to an emergency that occurs in the Helicopter
- Follow the procedures to do when an #emergency occurs on the Helicopter
- #Escape from Helicopter when #Helicopter is on water surface & #underwater
- Survive in the #sea using EBS
