Ways To Prevent Fire In Industries

Fires can occur in all industries and buildings. The right strategy must always be carried out so that fires can be prevented and handled. For fires in large industries to be prevented, here are some actions that must be determined and carried out:

- Do not smoke and do not bring cigarettes and matches into and around the workplace! The entire industry must have the courage to make regulations that its workers should not smoke and should not bring cigarettes and lighters to the workplace. Areas for smoking inside and outside the building should also not be provided, because fire can still move quickly and destroy the workplace.
- All equipment used and needed must always be inspected so that damage can be repaired immediately and does not become a source of fire
- All electrical machines and equipment must always be inspected and maintained regularly to prevent short circuits which can cause fire
- All flammable materials must always be monitored and stored properly in designated areas
- The building must always be clean from various objects that can cause a fire
- The building must be free of any items that could make escape efforts difficult in the event of a fire
- To ensure that everyone knows what to do in the event of a fire, all employees must be trained regularly to prevent and handle fires
- Fire Prevention Plan should always be made and updated

Some of the equipment that must be placed throughout the building:
- Fire Alarm
- Smoke Detector
- Fire extinguishers

Implementing the steps above can reduce the risk of fire in large industries.

Safety In Confined Space

Safety in Confined Spaces is very important because working in these areas can pose a risk to the health and life of the workers.

Some of the most important things to do to ensure safety in Confined Spaces:

* There must be 2 types of personnel working in Confined Spaces:

- Workers who enter and do work in Confined Spaces

- Officers responsible for monitoring the safety of workers working in Confined Spaces

Note: The officers responsible for the safety of the workers must remain outside the Confined Space while work is being carried out in the Confined Space to monitor the situation and communicate with workers until the work has been completed and the workers have left the Confined Space. The officers will be the ones who carry out the Rescue Procedure in case of an emergency.

* Companies that own Confined Spaces must establish proper procedures and provide appropriate courses to their workers so that workers are aware of the risks and hazards that can occur in Confined Spaces

* Equipment needed must always be available and used:

- PPE

- Light

- Ventilation

- Equipment needed to enter and work safely in Confined Spaces

By following strict Safety Protocols and Regulations, workers can perform their jobs safely and avoid the hazards associated with Confined Spaces.

Drone, Business And Humans

When the Drone was made, the initial goal was to make photos and videos that can be watched and entertaining. With the development of technology in sophisticated Drone, finally, the Drone has become the equipment used in our daily lives. We can see the Drone when we sit in the yard or when we walk around somewhere. The Drone is finally used at work, in the business world, and in all industries.

The Drone is used in the business world because business owners know that Drone can:
- Simplify work
- Provide and ensure security for workers and companies
- Monitor inaccessible and dangerous locations
- Collect data

The Drone can provide security because the company owner can use Drone to supervise and check the work carried out by employees. The company owner can see the video produced by the sophistication of technology in the Drone (sensor, GPS, 3D, and others) and find errors/problems/accidents that they cannot see.

The positive side of the Drone:
- Easy to move
- Durable
- Small so that it can enter a narrow and dangerous area
- Work faster
- Save time and money

In the future, the Drone can be pleasant and helpful equipment because the Drone can provide more useful services for humans.

Special Notes:
* Human eyes can only see one point, but the Drone can see all points
* Humans have limitations, but these limitations can be overcome by making sophisticated equipment and one of them is a Drone
* Drone, Robot and sophisticated technology must be seen and considered as equipment that helps humans, not considered as equipment that disturbs humans

Safety Procedures At Sea

Some of the Safety Procedures at sea include:
- Check equipment and systems on board regularly
- Monitor weather, sea, and tide conditions
- Comply with applicable regulations
- Perform Safety Procedures
- Make Safe Travel Plans and Emergency Plans
- Wear proper Safety Equipment and PPE (life jacket, helmet, and more)
- Use Communication Equipment (Radio)
- Use Navigation Aids
- Use Emergency Equipment
- Avoid dangerous and high-risk areas
- Have the ability to prevent and handle hazards and emergencies (fire, aground, collision, and more)
- Regularly take Safety at Sea Courses

Tips to help increase the chances of survival if stranded at sea:
- Assess the situation: Potential risks and hazards, resources, Safety Equipment, priorities
- Look for a place to self-protect: Protect from the sun, rain, wind
- When there's nowhere to self-protect: Build a place to self-protect by using rafts, buoys, logs, and more
- Do not drink seawater, because seawater will dehydrate and damage the health
- Get fresh water to drink
- When no fresh water is available: Collect rainwater and try to remove salt from seawater using a simple technique
- Save energy: Reduce activity and avoid unnecessary movement
- Shows signs for help that may attract attention from other vessels: Uses whistles, flares, SOS Signals, and more
- Maintain a calm and positive attitude so that Mental and Emotional Health is well maintained
- Believe that Survival will be carried out soon

Surviving at sea does require proper planning, preparation, and thinking so that life-threatening situations can be avoided and dealt with.

Fire In Factories And All Industries

Workers working in factories and entire industries must be aware of fires and explosions where they work. Some of the reasons why fires and explosions often occur in factories and entire industries:
- Overheated equipment is not handled properly
- Damaged equipment and machinery due to not being properly maintained
- Outdated electrical system
- Short circuit
- Gases, chemicals, flammable and explosive materials are not handled properly
- Improper storage and disposal
- Mistakes made by humans (smoking, throwing away cigarettes and not complying with Safety Protocols)

Many ways to prevent and deal with fires in all industries:
- Take courses to create and implement Safety Procedures
- Take courses to extinguish fires
- Maintain equipment
- Comply with Safety Protocols

Safety Protocols that must be adhered to:
- Ways to handle hazardous materials, equipment, and machinery
- Routine inspection
- Ways to prevent and deal with fires
- Ways to use a Fire Extinguisher
- Evacuation process
