Helideck Assistant

The Helideck Assistants (HDA) are responsible for assisting Helicopter Landing Officers (HLO).

In carrying out their duties, the HDAs must have knowledge of:

- Safety Rules

- #Heliport, Helideck & Helicopter

- Dangerous goods that come by air

- Dangerous items in Helideck

The HDAs must also have the ability to:

- Ensure that the Helicopters can land on & can take off from Offshore Installations safely

- Maintain & test systems & equipment at Helideck

- Handle departure & drop off the passengers safely

- Ensure that the passenger's luggage & luggage are handled safely to & from the Helicopter

- Handle #cargo

- Refuel in the #Helicopter

- Extinguish fires that occur in Helicopters & #Helideck

- Communicate using #radio

- Carry out duties as a member of the Emergency Response Team when an #emergency occurs

Emergency Response Management Team

All companies across industries & businesses should have an Emergency Response Management Team that can assist the company to deal with impending incidents & accidents. Emergency Response Management Team are personnel who prepare & respond to incidents & emergencies such as fire, illness, pipe rupture, natural disasters, #security threats & various other potential business disruptions. - The movement of fire when a fire occurs

- Techniques to detect impending fire

- Types of fire extinguishers

- Techniques for extinguishing fires precisely

When a fire occurs in their place of work, some of the actions they must take are:

- Identifying fire

- Sounding the #alarm

- Taking action to #extinguish the fire

- Using #fire fighting equipment (portable, hose, water, foam & more)

- Evacuating themselves & others safely

Incident Controller and Incident Management Team

The personnel who work as Incident Controller & are supported by the Incident Management Team are responsible for responding & handling incidents & emergencies that occur in the company where they work. They must have & perform the right strategy, tactics, command, control, communication & coordination elements.

The Incident Controllers are responsible for:

- Planning actions to be taken when an #emergency occurs (sounding Alarms, taking rescue actions, controlling incidents & more)

- Preparing themselves to always be able to handle emergencies

- Establishing & maintaining communication with internal & external institutions

- Managing individual & team performance

- Delegating authority to act

- Cooperating with Incident Management Team Members

- Assessing the situation as it occurs & taking effective action

- Conducting #Incident Command System

Basic H2S

H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) is a gas that can be created by natural #biological processes or by human activities & is a serious threat to people or assets due to its highly #toxic & corrosive nature.

The Oil & Gas Industry is an environment that has the potential to be exposed to H2S. One example is: When personnel inhale H2S, the H2S will directly enter the lungs & bloodstream. In small amounts of H2S, the personnel's body can protect itself by oxidizing (decomposing) H2S as quickly as possible into harmless compounds. However, if the personnel inhale more H2S, then the H2S that cannot be processed by the body will accumulate in the blood & poison the body.

Therefore, personnel who work in the Oil & Gas Industry must be able to handle #emergency that occurs due to H2S by having the necessary knowledge & understanding as follows:

- Knowing about #Hydrogen Sulfide #Gas & its dangers

- Knowing about exposure & its physiological effects
