Fire In Industry

Safety Procedures that must be taken by all industries:

- Companies must ensure the safety of all employees
- Companies must have an Emergency Plan and a Fire Safety Plan
- All employees must take training to extinguish fires and use various types of fire extinguishers correctly
- All employees must know about the Evacuation Process
- All employees must know evacuation routes, designated assembly points, and fire extinguisher locations
- All employees must be aware of all hazardous materials that can react to fire

When a fire occurs in an industry, several actions must be taken to ensure everyone's safety:

- Activate and sound the fire alarm to alert everyone that a fire is breaking out
- For large fires: Contact the Fire Team and provide information about the location of the fire and the hazardous materials involved
- For small fires: If you are trained and can extinguish fires, extinguish small fires that can be controlled using a fire extinguisher appropriate to the type of fire
- Turn off equipment and machines that could cause a fire
- Carry out the Evacuation Process by leaving the building and following the specified escape route. Warning: Do not use the lift !!!
- When outside and away from the building affected by the fire: Count the number of employees to ensure that all employees have evacuated safely
- After evacuation, do not re-enter the building and approach the fire

Ways To Work Safely In Confined Space

Confined Spaces have a variety of hazards, both atmospheric and physical. The main risks are:
- Bad air: Lack of oxygen is a big threat. Confined Spaces can have low oxygen levels due to poor ventilation, gas, smoke, and dust. This causes poisoning or respiratory problems.
- Dangerous liquids: Confined Spaces can contain dangerous liquids that can cause a person to drown and die
- Limited access: Confined Spaces have narrow entrances and exits. This can hinder and complicate rescue efforts in an emergency.
- Falls and crushes: Slippery surfaces, uneven footing, and tight spaces increase the risk of slips, trips, and falls. Additionally, there is a risk of being struck by a collapsing structure or equipment moving within a Confined Space.
- Extreme temperatures: Confined Spaces can become very hot or cold, causing heat stroke or hypothermia

The best way to work in Confined Spaces:
- Take the appropriate Confined Space Course before entering a Confined Space. Use the correct knowledge for working in Confined Spaces.
- Do not enter Confined Spaces alone. Work in Confined Spaces with other workers or trained professionals who know how to do the job properly and perform rescues.
- Use the right equipment to enter and exit Confined Spaces and save yourself

Since rescue attempts from Confined Spaces are very dangerous, the right way to save yourself is to call for help! If an accident occurs in a Confined Space, contact your Supervisor, Rescue Team, and other Emergency Services immediately!

Work And Safety At Confined Space

Warning: Confined Spaces are inherently risky, so preparation is the key!

If you work in Confined Space, you need to increase your chances of staying safe in a Confined Space emergency.

Ways to work in Confined Space safely:
- Know your roles in case of an emergency
- Always have a Permit To Work in a Confined Space
- Have the knowledge about the specific hazards and necessary safety measures
- Never enter a Confined Space alone!
- Have proper equipment: Respirators, harnesses, lifelines, and communication devices
- Inspect the Confined Space before entry
- Check for oxygen deficiency, toxic fumes, and other hazards
- The Trained Supervisor and Rescue Team should monitor the situation from outside

Ways to handle an emergency in a Confined Space if you're in the Confined Space:
- Stay calm!
- Check your condition and situation
- Can you breathe?
- Are you injured?
- Do your best to self-rescue
- Use a respirator
- Do your best to do Emergency Procedures
- Give an alert to the Supervisor and Rescue Team to let them know you need help

Ways to handle an emergency in a Confined Space if you're outside the Confined Space:
- Stay outside!
- Conduct the Emergency Plan you knew
- Call the Emergency Team and Services
- Conduct the Emergency Procedures
- Provide information to the Supervisor and Rescue Team: Let them know the nature of the emergency, any hazards in the space, and the location

Second Warning: If you need to enter the Confined Space, don't enter the space alone! You can become the next victim!

One thing for sure: The most important thing is to avoid entering a dangerous situation in the first place. If you have any doubts about the safety of a Confined Space, DON'T ENTER!

Driller In The Oil And Gas Industry

Are you working in the Oil and Gas Industry? Are you working as a Driller or Assistant Driller?

If you work as a driller or assistant driller, you must have some of the knowledge about:
- Drilling and its methods
- Well: Goals and planning
- Casing, Cementing, Completion and Fluid Programs
- Barrier Management
- Geology and rock formations
- Hydrostatic, Static, and Dynamic Wellbore Pressures
- Formation stress and strength
- Gas
- Temperature and pressure
- Drilling fluid
- Well control on high-angle wells
- Mud and Hole Management
- Normal and Shutdown Operations
- Changes to drilling mud and parameters
- Causes of kicks
- Abnormal formation
- Prevention of kicks during Drilling, Casing, and Cementing Operations
