Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is a hazardous and deadly gas!

H2S is usually found in:
- Workplace
- Basement
- Confined Space
- Closed space
- Hole
- Well
- Oil and gas wells
- Various industries: Oil and Gas, Mining, Tanning, Pulp and Paper, Rayon Manufacturing

Properties of H2S:

The consequences of H2S on humans and living creatures:
- Health problems: Hard to breathe, dizziness, eye irritation
- Faint
- Death

Several things that must be done to deal with H2S:
- When you are in an area that is a risky place, don't just rely on your sense of smell
- Whatever happens, always use PPE
- Check if the area has ventilation or not
- Monitor the air in the area using special equipment
- If the special equipment detects the presence of H2S, identify the source of the dangerous gas
- Measure the levels of H2S
- Remove H2S from the source using special equipment

Knowledge you must have:
- Properties and characteristics of H2S
- Physiological effects
- PPE (respiratory equipment, EBA, SCBA, face mask)
- Hazards and risks
- Ways to detect and measure
- Detection equipment
- Alarms
- Incident/Emergency
- Ways to respond
- Role of Safety Team

Update your knowledge and skills, so your job can be done correctly and safely!
